Papri Chaat
Papri Chaat is a popular and flavorful Indian street food known for its crispy and tangy taste. We love snacking on this at parties or just as a pre-dinner app! This recipe features a medley of crispy papri (fried dough crackers), boiled potatoes, chickpeas, yogurt, and an assortment of chutneys and spices. Topped with fresh coriander, pomegranate and sev (crispy chickpea noodles), Papri Chaat is a burst of textures and flavors that makes it a favorite for even those who aren't familiar with Chaat dishes.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup boiled and diced potatoes
- 1 bag papri crackers or ritz crackers
- 1/2 cup chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup plain yogurt, whisked and spiced with 1/2 tsp Chaat Party
- Tamarind chutney (can buy at the store)
- Cilantro Chaat Chutney
- 1-2 tbsp Chaat Party
- Chopped cilantro
- 1/2 cup Sev (crispy chickpea noodles)
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 Persian cucumber diced
- 1/4 red onion diced
DIRECTIONS:
- Once peeled potatoes are boiled add to a bowl and stir in 2-3 tbsp Chaat Party and 1tbsp butter; let cool and set aside
- Chop all veggie ingredients and place in individual bowls
- Make cilantro green chutney if using

On a serving plate, arrange papri crackers and top each papri with boiled chaat potatoes and the rinsed chickpeas
- Add the onion, cucumber and pomegranate seeds then drizzle the whisked spiced yogurt, chutneys, lemon juice and sev across the platter

Sprinkle as much Chaat Party as you prefer and chopped cilantro
