Add a little oomf and spice to your homemade, store bought or take out pizza by sprinkling the Tikka Masala spice for some extra flava!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 package (about 1 lb) store-bought pizza dough OR make your own pizza kit- follow the instructions to make the dough
- 1 cup tomato sauce of choice- we love Raos
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of toppings (e.g., pepperoni, sliced olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions)
- 1tsp Tikka Masala spice
- Olive oil for brushing
- Flour for dusting
EQUIPMENT:
- Rolling pin or a wine bottle if you don't have one
- Oven-safe round pizza pan or a regular sheet pan is fine
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven according to instructions on the pizza dough package
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the store-bought pizza dough to your desired thickness; If the dough is sticky, you can dust it with a bit more flour
-
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet that has been lightly sprayed with olive oil
-
Spread a layer of tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust
-
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, ensuring even coverage, then add the Tikka Masala spice
-
Add your favorite toppings, whether it's classic pepperoni (in cute heart shapes) sliced olives, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers
-
Lightly brush the crust with olive oil for a golden finish
-
Follow the baking instructions on the pizza dough package, typically around 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden, and the cheese is melted and bubbly
-
Once baked, carefully remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
-
Slice, serve, and enjoy your delicious homemade pizza with the convenience of store-bought dough and the unique flavors of Tikka Masala
